CHAPTER 4

TAKEOVER

The Invisible Jet soared across the sky, flying high above the Atlantic Ocean. It headed toward Happy Harbor, Cyborg’s last known location. Inside the cockpit, Wonder Woman and Aquaman tried to make sense of their current situation.

“According to Superman, Batman discovered that Starro is controlling these children through a video game app,” said Wonder Woman, shaking her head. “The modern world is becoming stranger and more dangerous by the day.”

“Indeed,” Aquaman agreed. “That’s why we’ve got to get to the bottom of this fast. If we don’t, we’ll be next on Starro’s list.”

In the back of the jet, Batman began to shake with fury. “Starro will conquer this planet,” he growled. “You’re nothing to him.”

“C’mon, Aquaman,” Wonder Woman said, putting the controls on autopilot. “Let’s go have a chat with our guest.”

“You are weak. The conqueror is strong!” Batman shouted, shaking his jail cell’s bars.

“I’ve never seen Batman like this,” noted Wonder Woman. “Let’s see if we can get him to tell us something of value.” She looped her lasso through the bars of Batman’s jail cell and coiled it around his arm.
